Depositers and Customers of CHB have been waiting for so long for this bank to reopen. what worries me is reading so much malicious talks on blogs with no facts, saying that this bank shouldnt be opened. Most probably, the people saying this did not have any accounts in those banks or even know someone with an account there.
the bank was initially closed temporarily for the safety of the depositors but up to now the people suffering are the depositors and the Bank's Customers. since the closure CBK, KACC,and KRA have seen no reason for the bank to remain closed because there was nothing illegal found on them. why then is it not open till today.
Some customers were alleged to be the ones who evaded taxes and were involved in malicious deals, which means their accounts were supposed to be the ones frozen, so as to avoid suffering for the other innocent majority. the Kenya Banking act is supposed to protect the customers and in-case a Bank closes these customers should be paid within 100days by the government. why hasn't this happened foour years later. when will the innocent middle-class Kenyan Citizen Have a right on anything??
NINA..i can't agree with you more about the reopening of charter house bank..it should be done with immediate effect since allegations are just allegations. customers are suffering a great deal....

ReplyDeleteI think that people like the US ambassador are also fueling the propaganda. Its amazing that they usually do exempt their own banks or even fine them when the violate the bank regulations. A bank like RIGGS in the USA was used to channel funds for the 911 attack and are still operating. This is what we call IMPUNITY!
ReplyDelete@Kwach and mind you the Issue on the Riggs bank was not malicious. it was proven guilty in court of the offences!then why is it in operation still. and why is it that the Ambassador,Ranerberger, in this case. on whch side is he yet we dont have very good examples from his country?? thanx for seeing the light with me!
